Elf Hydrating Bubble Mask Review: Ingredients, Before & After

If you want your makeup to look good, you need to ensure your skin is flawless. Face masks aren’t new, but they have risen in popularity with Instagram and TikTok influencers’ help. Now you have charcoal masks, oil masks, sheet masks, foam masks, and any type of facial treatment you could imagine! E.L.F. Hydrating Bubble Mask is one of those recommended masks that is not only helpful, but it looks fun, too. This was enough to make me try it for myself.

What Does It Offer?

E.L.F. Hydrating Bubble Mask is an innovative gel mask that transforms into bubbles once on your face. When you remove it, your skin will feel moisturized and clean. It will clear your pores and leave a hydrated glow on your face.

It is suitable for all skin types, and its waiting time is 5-10 minutes. The product comes in a 50ml tub so that you can re-use it for quite some time. It will ensure you have a fun face routine without taking away too much of your time.

What Is the Product Like?

The product comes in a very classy-looking matte glass container with a hint of mint color. The lettering is elegant and black, and the opening is metal, but the protective lid is transparent. Everything works thanks to a press-on dispenser that will dispense the gel from the product. A silicon button closes the opening, so the product will last longer as no air comes through the opening.

The product dispenses from the center of the packaging. What I immediately noticed is that this kind of distributing can make a product a bit messy. Still, it isn’t too bad, although I’d prefer a bit different placement. The mask itself does have a fragrance, but it isn’t overwhelming. On the contrary, it is very refreshing, and it smells like something I’d gladly put on my skin.

Once dispensed on your hands, the mask looks like a transparent gel that can easily be spread all over your skin. However, almost immediately after touching your hands or face, it will turn into tiny bubbles that make everything look like foam.

According to instructions, you’re supposed to apply a thin layer on damp skin. Your skin shouldn’t be dry when using it, but it also shouldn’t be too wet. Once you spread everything on your face, the gel will start fizzing, and everything will turn into bubbles. This will leave you with a light, tingling sensation that might feel uncomfortable or weird the first time you’re using it. However, as it was stated on the instruction that this might happen, and as my face didn’t turn red afterward, I didn’t worry too much about it. Wait for up to ten minutes, when you’ll notice bubbles slowly dissipating. Massage your face with wet hands before removing everything with warm water.

This mask is recommended to be used up to three times a week. I can’t say I have been following that rule entirely, as for the month I was using it, I didn’t follow any strict schedule. I have also noticed that once the foaming has gone down after some 10-15 minutes, this works really well as a cleanser. I remove any makeup except my mascara with it, as I don’t want it to get into my eyes.

After using it, my face does feel very clean and hydrated. The skin remains very soft even in the morning, and it usually is somewhat dry. In fact, I might even say this is one of the most hydrating masks I have used so far – and I tried plenty of them. A little goes a long way, and the 50ml bottle lasts for quite a while – in fact, it seems like I am still far from finishing my first tub.

I have to say, when I first saw the price of $15, I was a bit skeptical, as this is way more than I would typically spend on a face mask. However, so far, I dare to say E.L.F. Hydrating Bubble Mask was worth every penny. My face feels like a baby’s skin, and the feeling is long-lasting. Just make sure you rinse it well after every use, as it can leave a minor residue on your skin.

Ingredients

When it comes to ingredients, this is one of the best masks for the price. Its ingredients are perfectly safe, and the product is fragrance-free, gluten-free, hypoallergenic, and paraben-free. It also doesn’t contain nickel, preservatives that might cause allergies, lanolin, soy, tropical antibiotics, irritants, and acid. The product is safe to use by teens, and it is lip safe, but not eye-safe.

Is It Vegan And Cruelty-Free?

E.L.F. is a brand that has been verified by PETA as a cruelty-free brand. In other words, no animals were harmed during the making of this product. The face mask itself and any of its ingredients and formulations weren’t tested on animals, and E.L.F. doesn’t sell its products to countries where animal testing is required by law.

At the same time, E.L.F. Hydrating Bubble Mask is 100% vegan, and it doesn’t contain any animal by-products or animal-derived ingredients.

Conclusion

I have to say, I am not a believer in face masks with special effects. Anything that foams, heats, and similar, I usually don’t want on my sensitive skin. E.L.F. Hydrating Bubble Mask was recommended to me by many, which is why I decided to test it. And I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with it.

The mask leaves my skin hydrated and soft throughout the following day. Also, it works really fast, which is great if you’re someone like me that hates spending too much time waiting for the product to work. And it’s vegan! All in all, it’s well worth the price.
